»Ask John Walsh: Do Sex Predators Live In My Area
After serving 17 years in a New Hampshire prison for sexual assaulting young boys, William Francis Sheehan was a free man and seemed to be living on the right side of the law. He worked a steady job as a manager in a bakery and bought a new truck.
But in November the truck that Sheehan bought turned up in New York abandoned, and he was no where to be found.
Police say Sheehan was having a hard time keeping up with the truck payments, and the stress from the long work hours put him over before he took off.
Now in violation of the Adam Walsh Act -- which requires Sheehan to notify authorities whenever he leaves the state -- cops believe Sheehan is up to his old tricks.
Sheehan is known to move within church communities and gain the trust of single mothers by offering his services as a handyman or even as a babysitter.
Once the mother's guard is down, cops tell AMW that Sheehan begins to prey on their sons.
Sheehan often invites the boys to spend nights at his apartment where he will buy them candy and play a game of "gotcha," where Sheehan would touch the boys' genital area and perform sexual acts.
Cops say Sheehan admits to being a predator, and says he feels he can't control his sexual urges for young boys.
