End Of The Line For Rickey Allen Robbins

For more than 20 years, authorities say Rickey Allen Robbins has been a threat to public safety, and after he violated parole months ago, investigators said he's a wanted man once again.

In 1983, Robbins entered the home of an Oregon woman and raped her.  The victim was able to escape, shoot Robbins, and ultimately help law enforcement put him behind bars.  Cops say Robbins was arrested, and paroled in 2007, but he absconded from supervision.

From Oregon, authorities say Robbins fled to New York, where he broke into another woman's home and touched her while she slept.

When the woman awoke, Robbins fled but left behind a hat, which cops ultimately traced back to him. However, police soon received another report from the same area: this time, cops say Robbins entered another woman's home, held her down, apologized and fled.

Robbins was arrested a short time later in a New Orleans university library. He had been watching child pornography.

Investigators say Robbins was extradited back to Oregon where he served time for the probation violation.  On Dec. 10, 2008, Robbins was released and sent to a local Eugene, Ore. homeless mission.

But just two days later, Robbins' parole officer reported that the 58-year-old didn't show up for his scheduled meeting and a warrant was issued again for his arrest.

On May 24, 2009, Rickey Allen Robbins drowned in the Colorado River near Laughlin, Nev.

Sex Offender Drowns While On The Lam

Serial sex offender, Rickey Allen Robbins, has been declared dead by medical examiners in Nevada after an unidentified man's remains washed up on the shores of the Colorado River on May 25, 2009.

Authorities tell AMW that Robbins was seen attempting to molest a girl at a Laughlin, Nevada arcade on May 24, 2009.  Security guards stepped in and chased Robbins who made a break for the banks of the Colorado River.  Witnesses say that's when Robbins jumped in the river and floated downstream.  Occupants of a river taxi saw Robbins in the water and threw him a flotation ring, but he never grabbed it and soon they lost sight of him.

The next day, Robbins body was discovered with another man's ID.  Medical examiners ran toxicology reports and fingerprints and ultimately identified the drowned man as Rickey Allen Robbins on June 5, 2009.
