Crime-busting Show Visits Arkansas to Investigate Murder of Young Woman who May be a Serial Killer's Victim and a Jailbreak Made Possible by Dental Floss.
(November 5, 2008) Television's top fugitive hunter goes deep in the Ozark Mountain wilderness this week to bring viewers the clues that could solve a brutal murder and maybe unmask a serial killer. AMERICA'S MOST WANTED: AMERICA FIGHTS BACK, which has helped law enforcement take down more than 1,000 dangerous bad guys, will broadcast from Ft. Smith, Arkansas as host John Walsh investigates the unsolved murder of Melissa Witt, Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Witt was attacked outside a bowling alley in Ft. Smith in December, 1995, as her mother bowled inside unaware that her daughter was fighting for her life just yards away. Witt's battered body was discovered six weeks later, 50 miles away in the Ozark mountains. Although it's become a cold case, detectives who believe that a serial killer may be responsible are hoping AMW's viewers will be able to heat the investigation up.
Walsh will also tell viewers about the hunt for Humberto Fortanelli, who authorities say escaped from an Arkansas jail along with a cellmate with the help of a very unusual item: dental floss. Cops tracked down the cellmate, but Fortanelli, who faces attempted murder charges, is still on the run. In addition, the broadcast will include the latest details on the investigation into last month's murder of a popular Little Rock, Arkansas television anchorwoman, 26-year-old Anne Pressly.
AMERICA'S MOST WANTED: AMERICA FIGHTS BACK airs on Saturdays, 9 PM ET/PT, 8 PM CT on FOX. AMW is produced by STF Productions, Inc. Lance Heflin is Executive Producer.
