Officer Frank Fania's dedication and tireless efforts resulted in the capture and arrest of a fugitive who was wanted for murder for four years.
In 2004 two men committed a random act of murder in the streets of Aurora, Colorado.
One man turned himself in while the other skipped town.
At this time Aurora did not have a fugitive unit.
After two years Officer Fania's assistance was requested to locate this suspect and he was made part of the newly founded Aurora Police Department Fugitive Unit and part of the Fugitive Task Force.
Running off little information Frank Fania and his Sergeant took the case to America's Most Wanted.
The suspect was given 15 seconds of shame twice on the show, during which time Frank received numerous tips, tips which he had to weed through.
Officer Fania put in countless hours of surveillance and research all while working his other cases.
Finally after two years Officer Fania was able to locate the man who was living under an assumed name with his mother in Missouri.
In November of 2008 the suspect was arrested and brought back to Colorado where he is awaiting trial.
Thanks to Officer Fania's dedication and training he was able to bring this dangerous criminal to justice.
