Patrolman, Justin Reeder of the Porter County Sheriff's Department in Porter County Indian has dedicated his life to maintaining his family's legacy of being in law enforcement. He has always had a strong passion for serving and helping others within the community. After graduating from Carthage College with a degree in Criminal Justice he was hired by the North Las Vegas Police Department as a police officer. He moved back to Porter County in 2008 to "continue law enforcement determined to serve and make an impact within the community where I grew up". He worked at the Ogden Dunes Police Department as a patrolman while working on his lateral certification process from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in March 2009. One of the highlights of Justin's career was when he entered a roaring house fire to save an elderly man and his dog. The fire was so intense it took 8 fire departments 5 hours to get it under control.
Justin followed in the footsteps of his father and was hired by the Porter County Sheriff's Department as a patrolman in May of 2009.
While his mother serves as operator and dispatcher for Porter County and father maintains law order as Chief of Police in the town of Ogden Dunes,
Porter County's All-Star Patrolman Justin Reeder continues to protect and serve the proud citizens of his home town.
