People say that Spillman can be charming and gregarious, but his laugh sounds forced or "manufactured."
Edmund Spillman, a convicted sexual predator, hasn't checked in with his parole officer or officially registered as a sex offender for several years now. U.S. Marshals are not taking any chances because they fear the repeat offender will strike again.
In the early 90s, Ohio authorities were searching for Spillman. They said the fugitive had raped a young woman and assaulted her infant child. In 1991, AMW profiled Spillman and within days he was arrested in Texas.
In 1992, Spillman was convicted of sexual battery, gross sexual imposition and burglary for the 1990 assault on the young mother and sentenced to six to 20 years.
This is the most recent picture of Eddie Spillman that cops have. It is dated May 31, 2005.
After more than 12 years in custody, Spillman was released from prison in May 2004. He was told to check in with the Ohio Parole Board and register as a sex offender.
Cops say initially Spillman followed the rules, but on July 24, 2005 he walked away from his halfway house in Mansfield, Ohio called the Volunteers of America house. U.S. Marshals say he hasn't checked in with authorities since.
The U.S. Marshals and the Richland County Sheriff's Deputies are hunting for this middle-aged menace. They hope to get him back in custody before someone else gets hurt.
Spillman loves his home state of Ohio and investigators think he may have headed south to Cincinnati or Columbus. They say he has been known to previously travel with carnivals.
Spillman was nabbed by Marshals in Louisiana on September 23, 2009.

After nearly five years on the run, Edmund Spillman is back behind bars once again.
U.S. Marshals tell us Spillman had been laying low ever since walking away from a halfway house in the summer of 2005.
In September 2009, a tipster notified cops with the Shelby, Ohio Police Department that Spillman was living the good life in New Orleans -- and using an assumed identity to get by.
When Louisiana authorities went to the location provided by the tipster, they found Spillman -- but he swore up and down that he wasn't who they said he was.
According to Marshals, Spillman claimed to be his brother, Robert, but Marshals say the two couldn't look any more different if they tried.
From what authorities tell us, Spillman went to great lengths to assume his brother's identity, even going so far as to get legitimate Ohio and Louisiana state IDs, as well as a Louisiana driver's license.
After positively ID-ing Spillman, and letting him know the jig was up, they took him down without incident and put an end to the freedom he cherished so much.
