Cops say on May 5, 2010, 20-year-old football star Courtney Smith was gunned down outside a nightclub in Detroit by Anton Blevins. After over a year and a half on the run, the Nevada Fugitive Investigative Strike Team has arrested Blevins in Las Vegas.
The Nevada Fugitive Investigative Strike Team has arrested Anton Blevins, 21, in Las Vegas. Blevins, who was wanted for the murder of Courtney Smith, a promising Wayne State University cornerback, after an altercation turned deadly in a Detroit club parking lot, had been on the run since May 5, 2011.
U.S. Marshals received information from the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension team that, after the murder, Blevins fled to the Las Vegas area.
Moving quickly on the tip, the Nevada Fugitive Investigative Strike Team located Blevins near West Sahara Ave. and Hualapai Way on Dec. 12, 2011.
Blevins was booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where he awaits extradition.
