The 3rd annual AMW All-Star contest is underway, and after a tough competition, the first finalist has been chosen. AMW is excited to announce Officer Dale Farmer, of Kingsport, Tenn. as the first weekly winner.
At least two blogs and 15 websites featured stories relating to Officer Farmer's All-Star nomination. The newspaper "Kingsport Times-News" reported the story on their website, for readers in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and beyond. His family, friends, and the Kingsport community have encouraged and supported Officer Farmer through their votes in this year's contest.
A few years ago, the city of Kingsport reported an all-time high traffic fatality rate. Officer Farmer has been commended for his efforts in reversing the city's statistics to its current all-time low. As a long-time member of Kingsport Police Department, he has proven his determination to reduce the number of DUIs, speeding, and drug-related incidents.
Officer Farmer is certified as one of the 900 Accident Reconstruction Experts worldwide. He is serving his 24th year in law enforcement. His expertise includes advanced accident investigation, DUI and vehicular homicide, and accident reconstruction. In his career, he has investigated numerous traffic fatalities and performed full reconstructions, determining how an automobile accident occurred and if criminal charges are appropriate. Officer Farmer's assigned police vehicle is a marked Mustang, hence his nickname, "The Mustang Cop".
Each week for 8 weeks, you can vote among the nominees for a weekly All-Star winner. The 8 weekly winners will be finalists for the 2007 AMW All-Star vote in May. Our 2007 AMW All-Star will win $10,000 and an All-Star weekend at the NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge.
Officer Farmer will be featured on the March 3rd episode of AMW at 9pm EST on FOX
