Operation Predator Captures 10,000
A lot can be accomplished in four years. On June 7, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced that Operation Predator, a program launched in 2003, had succeeded in capturing 10,000 child sex offenders.
Operation Predator is run by ICE in partnership with the department of Homeland Security. The program targets criminals involved in child prostitution, human trafficking, child pornography, and international sex tourism. 86,000 of the offenders captured by Operation Predator were illegal immigrants, and more than half of them have been deported.

Still Hard at Work
Among those arrested in 2006 were a little league baseball coach from California and an Ohio karate instructor. Both were charged with possession of child pornography. In the last year, Operation Predator has caught 3,200 offenders, and with a grand total of 10,000 captures under its belt, the program is still going strong.
