This week, we are faced with a very different scenario, as AMW tackles the case of Dale Helmig, a man who it seems has been wrongly incarcerated for the murder of his mother.

AMW's Avery Mann spent some time with John Walsh inside the AMW Crime Center during the taping of this week's show, getting an inside look at the ins and outs of producing this special episode of AMW.

On set, Avery talks to John to get an in-depth account of his efforts in finally finding justice for convicted -- perhaps wrongfully convicted -- killer Dale Helmig and his murdered mother, Norma.

"I think there are lots of people that realize that there are innocent people in jail," John said. "That the criminal justice system is sometimes the criminal injustice system."

John points out that there were major mistakes made during Dale's murder trial, and that they are only seeking one thing: a new, fair trial.

Reanalyzing evidence could provide Dale with a chance to prove his innocence.
