The Annual NAPO Top Cops Awards

Since 1994, the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) brings special attention to outstanding law enforcement officers from all over the country.

Each year, the NAPO's associate members choose from a list of submitted stories and vote to give out a Citizens' Choice award to the greatest hero.

The even features a number of celebrity guests and presenters, such as stars from Law & Order, Rescue Me, and 24. AMW's John Walsh has the distinct honor of hosting the evening.

Indeed an honor to highlight such great examples of these heroes going above and beyond the call of duty. All of the stories are compelling, as John states, "all of the officers are Top Cops, I don't know how they do it."

The officers celebrated on this night show incredible examples of skill, training, and bravery in the face of dangerous criminals -- putting their lives on the line to protect innocent citizens.
