Fallen Officers Remembered During National Police Week 2010

5/14/2010

AMW was honored to join the thousands of others who came to Washington, D.C. to honor their fallen brothers and sisters during 2010's National Police Week.

Cops from all over the country, their family and supporters came to pay somber tribute to the many fallen heroes at the National Police Memorial.

The Wall features the names of more than 18,600 officers who've been killed in the line of duty throughout the history of the United States. Each spring, new names of fallen officers are added to the monument in conjunction with National Police Week.

During this time of remembrance, people don't just mourn those who died. They pledge to keep their spirit alive by celebrating the memories they shared with them.

And for those currently on duty, the wall serves as a stark reminder of the challenges they face every day trying to protect us.
