»The Full Story
Local and federal officials are searching for Lawrence Seth Wayne. Police say in February of 1998, Wayne, a twice-convicted drunken driver, slammed into Don Cantwell, a father of two young boys.
Minutes after plowing into Don's truck on the interstate, Wayne fled. Police finally caught up with him at a local Shell station, where Wayne argued that he had left the scene to look for a phone.
Wayne was not only caught, but also convicted. He was permitted out on a $50,000 bond while he appealed his case. Officials say Wayne's father wrote the check. Wayne lost the appeal and was sentenced to 19 years. But, he fled before he could be thrown in jail.
