Cops say 31-year-old Christopher Donahue posed as a doctor to rape at least two women in their 70's. But investigators are learning those victims aren't the only ones he tried to dangerously deceive.
»The Full Story
Authorities in Philadelphia, PA are trying to track down an accused rapist who they say poses as a doctor to trap elderly women.
According to officials, Christopher Donahue makes cold calls to women posing as a medical doctor. He convinces the women that they need a medical check-up and then makes appointments to perform an examination. But when Donahue shows up, cops say he wants somehting more.
Unaware that Donahue is not a doctor, the women allow him inside. Cops say Donahue asks the women to disrobe, then assaults them. To date, police have identified two rape victims and 13 other elderly females between the ages of 55-88 who were allegedly assaulted by Donahue. Cops say Donahue might still be in the Philadelphia area or in Florida.
Police say Christopher Donahue is done deceiving and raping elderly women. That's because they threw the 31-year-old behind bars on July 13, 2005. And while he's charged with raping at least two women in Philadelphia, investigators found him far from the place he called home and far from the place where he allegedly posed as a doctor to rape his vulnerable victims.
Investigators actually caught up with Donahue in the Sunshine State. The FBI saved him a spot on their most wanted list, but he didn't last long. Tipsters helped lead police to Miami Beach, where Donahue had been living in disguise. Investigators say when they caught up with him, he had shaved his head. But his new look wasn't enough to keep him out of handcuffs.
Cops finally spotted him strolling in South Beach on Wednesday night. The Florida hot spot is known for luring the rich and famous -- but not fugitives.
So police put the suspected rapist where he belongs -- behind the bars of the Miami-Dade County jail. He now faces extradition to Pennsylvania.
