Cops in Garland, Texas are on the hunt for Cesar Orozco, a man who they say shot and killed Joe Luis Castillo on March 14, 2009.
Police say Orozco was dropping off his daughter with his ex-wife -- with whom he shared custody of the girl -- when he saw Joe Castillo working on a car. Orozco allegedly approached Castillo with a gun and fired at him.
Cops say Castillo died as a result of ten gunshot wounds.
After the shooting, Orozco fled the scene and has been on the run ever since.
Orozco abandoned his Chrysler a few miles from the crime scene, police say, which they later found. Inside the vehicle, police discovered the murder weapon.
Investigators learned that jealousy may have perpetuated this murder; Orozco suspected that Joe was seeing his ex-wife.
Cops say that this is Orozco’s first violent crime.
Police say Cesar Orozco has relatives in Mexico, but after questioning his family, detectives believe he is still in the United States. Cops tell AMW that most of his family resides in the Dallas area, which is reason enough for Orozco not to stray too far.
Prior to the crime, police say Orozco either resided at his mother’s home or his sister’s home.
Cops say that Orozco worked in the factory of a lumber company before they say he killed Joe.
He may be working in a similar line of work.
