After his arrest for abusing a woman and holding her captive, police say Rene Munoz helped to carry out the killing of a man within earshot of his wife and daughter. This dangerous member of the Mexican Mafia has been on the run since 2005, and he's been named one of the nation's Most Wanted Gang Members by the Department of Justice's GangTECC unit.

On Jan. 15, 2005, cops say Rene Munoz was hanging out at a Texas bar -- looking for trouble.
He met and danced with a woman who we'll identify only as "Tracy."
She told police he offered her $185 to come back to his house in Pearsall, Texas to strip and dance for him.
She agreed to 45 minutes, so after an hour and half at Munoz's house, she was ready to leave. But cops say Munoz had other plans.
He told her she wasn't going anywhere. Tracy struggled, but cops say he overpowered her and tied her up.
Munoz threw her in an empty room where cops say he kept her captive for six days, Ray Trevino of the Pearsall Police Department said.
Tracy told police that Munoz sexually abused her and refused to give her food or water.
On Jan. 20, 2005, Tracy said a friend showed up at Munoz's house looking for her.
When she heard her friend's voice, she screamed from the room where she was trapped.
The friend took Tracy to her ex-boyfriend's house, but cops say a short time later, Munoz caught up with her.
Munoz demanded that she come with him, but she refused and they say he threatened to kill her.
Cops say Tracy was severely beaten and called 9-1-1 from a nearby convenience store. She was airlifted to San Antonio.
Tracy survived to tell police her story, and Munoz was arrested a short time later.
But his violent streak didn't end there.
After Munoz was released on bond, police say he was a key player in a murder for the Mexican Mafia.
On Jan. 25, 2005, Munoz and three other gang members went to Hector Martinez's home, Sgt. Rocky Millican of the Texas Rangers said.
Cops say Hector was a local low-level dealer who hadn't been paying his "taxes" to the Mexican Mafia.
Around 9 p.m. Hector's wife and daughter came home. They noticed an unfamiliar car in the driveway and a man they didn't know standing next to it.
Hector's daughter went inside and told her dad that there was a man outside asking for him, according to police.
Hector went outside and a short time later his family heard gunshots.
His wife was the first to reach the front door, where she saw her husband's body.
Cops say Hector wasn't a member of any gang. He just refused to pay the Mexican Mafia for "permission" to sell drugs in Texas.
He was encouraging others not too pay the tax as well and it cost him his life.
Cops say Munoz was driving the car that night and had a hand in ordering the killing.
He hasn't been seen since. The other two men involved in Hector's murder were arrested a short time after.
Bobby Hernandez died in jail while awaiting trial and the trigger man, Bobby Guerra, is serving time.
Now, police need your help to take this armed and dangerous fugitive off the streets before anyone else gets hurt.
Munoz could be in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico or Laredo, Texas. But he hasn't been spotted in so long, cops say he could be anywhere.
