A Friday night out with friends turned deadly for one Jackson, Miss. pool hall patron. Rodney Dishmon was leaving Leonard's Pool Hall around 7:45 p.m. on December 12 when he bumped into a man while attempting to avoid a mud puddle.
Cops say that man was Ricky Godbolt, and Dishmon could not have realized at the time whose path he had crossed.
A short altercation ensued, and Dishmon left the bar.
He returned a short time later only to be confronted by Godbolt, a convicted murderer who had already served nine years in the state prison.
Following this altercation, Dishmon announced he was leaving to go home for the night.
Dishmon made his way through the parking lot, unaware that he had company. Godbolt -- also a notorious gang member -- had retrieved a sawed-off shotgun from his vehicle.
Cops say he aimed it at Dishmon, squeezed the trigger, and left the aspiring rapper to die in a pool of blood next to a filthy Dumpster.
Police desperately need your help to catch this accused killer. Ricky Godbolt is on the loose, and police are concerned his fuse could blow again.
Godbolt -- also known as “Sugarman” -- is 5’7”, 175 lbs., and might have a goatee or mustache.
He has a distinctive teardrop tattoo under his right eye and numerous prison tattoos from a stint in a Mississippi State Correctional facility.
One of those tattoos incorporating the Star of David are tied to the Black Gangster Disciples, a dangerous street gang formed in Chicago.
Godbolt may have fled to the West Coast and has a history of violence that cops don’t want to see repeated.
Contact police immediately if you have any information about his whereabouts and help put this already-convicted killer behind bars again.
