On May 22, 2004, police say Douglas Holler's careless actions changed one Ohio family forever. That night, Holler allegedly ignored a stop sign. But he didn't just break the law -- police say his actions ultimately killed David Neff, who was a proud father and husband.
Just two weeks before he died, David Neff watched one of his two daughters walk down the aisle at her wedding. And friends and family say he was the kind of guy who would have done anything for anyone. So when he died suddenly in a tragic car crash, it sent shock throughout his community.
On the night of his death, Neff was supposed to meet his wife at a graduation party. But he never made it. Cops say Neff was headed westbound on a road in Fort Recovery, Ohio when Holler struck the vehicle he was in. Rescue units managed to free Holler from his vehicle. But police say Neff was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cops say Holler checked into a hospital following the crash. Police say they didn't file charges immediately because they were waiting for results from a blood alcohol test -- they suspected Holler had been drinking. Not only that, they say he had a previous drunk driving conviction.
But Holler didn't wait around for the test results. He took off and was never seen again.
Since then, Holler is nowhwere to be found and police say he's refused to face-up or fess-up to his actions. They've issued a warrant for aggravated vehicular homicide.Cops want to put an end to this manhunt and have a few clues about Holler's habits.
Police say he travels with a woman named Marcia Franz and there's a possibility he may still be with her. According to police, the pair frequently stops at lakes and campgrounds, specifically Kiser Lake, Indian Lake, Grand Lake St. Mary's and Lake Ft. Loramie.
A man who spent more than a year and a half on the lam is back behind bars. Douglas Holler, who was wanted in Darke County, OH for a fatal hit and run that killed a loving father of four, was picked up by authorities in Marion County, OH on October 19, 2005 - making him AMW's 866th direct result capture.
Cops say Marsha Frantz, Holler's girlfriend, was trying to rent a house in Aurora. While Frantz was filling out paperwork, the real esate agent asked if she was going to have any roommates. According to authorities, Frantz told the agent she would have a male roommate, but failed to provide his name. That's when the real estate agent became suspicious. So, she decided to do some detective work of her own.
The real estate agent typed in Frantz's name into an internet search engine. What she saw next shocked her - Marsha Frantz was connected to Douglas Holler, a wanted man, on AMW.COM. After contacting authorities, Marsha Frantz and Douglas Holler were located in Marion County, Ohio. Holler was arrested without incident and is awaiting extradition back to Darke County.
