On June 22, 2006, cops in San Diego, California began the manhunt for Jesus Villa-Coronel, a man they believe was involved in two shootings that left a mother severly wounded, her unborn child dead, and her cousin murdered.
Police were called to Martha Elizondo's residence on reports of a shooting taking place in the home. Her brother, Carlos Marguet, had been woken up at 4:45 am by a noise in the house. Police say that Marguet found the front door open, looked outside and saw a man who matches Jesus Villa-Coronel's description getting into a vehicle.
Upon returning into the house, Marguet would find his sister lying in a bedroom bleeding profusely from a gunshot wound to the neck. When Marguet asked Martha who was responsible she said, "Compadre Chuey."
While a seven months pregnant Martha Elizondo was transported to a nearby hospital, police were called to another crime scene. Cops say that at 6:30 am they found the body of Jose Pillado in the front seat of his car which was still running. Pillado had been shot multiple times.
Police soon discovered that Jose Pillado was Martha Elizondo's cousin, however, they linked the two incidents when wtinesses and evidence came to light. That's when detectives began their search for Jesus Villa-Coronel, aka "Chuey".
Tragically, Martha Elizondo's unborn child did not survive while doctors worked to save the mother's life.
Cops say that "Chuey" is wanted on two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. They're asking for the public's assistance in finding the wherabouts of Villa-Coronel.
