On October 9th, 2006, cops discovered a gruesome crime scene -- a woman had been murdered; her youngest daughter had been raped and her oldest daughter had been abducted.
Now, cops in Texas are on a manhunt for ex-con Daniel Joseph Griffin. Following the incident, the Kaufman County Sheriff's Department charged Griffin with aggravated sexual assault. The 34-year-old is not charged with murder but detectives believe he's connected to the crimes.
Around noon on Monday, cops say someone stabbed the woman in the neck, then tied up her three daughters -- raping the youngest girl and abducting the eldest.
Cops say the eldest daughter -- Christina Harrison -- could be traveling with Griffin, but authorities are uncertain whether or not she left with him willingly or not.
Detectives are doing everything they can to track down Griffin and now they have a few clues.
Shortly after the incident, police say Griffin and Harrison made a stop that indicates they could now be in disguise. Police say they stopped at a nearbly Wal-Mart before hitting the road and purchased hair dye and gift cards.
Police say Griffin was last seen driving a 1994 light blue Plymouth Voyager van with Texas license plates T55-PPL. Griffin is 5'9" tall and weighs 172 lbs. He has several tattoos on his upper body and arms.
The manhunt for fugitive Daniel Griffin is over. Cops caught up with the 34-year-old at a Houston apartment complex on Oct. 12, 2006. Investigators put Griffin in handcuffs a little after midnight and drove him straight back to Kaufman County, Texas -- where he's cooling off in a jail cell. The ex-con went on the run after allegedly stabbing a woman to death and then raping one of her daughters.
But Griffin's capture isn't the only reason detectives in Kaufman say they're celebrating. They also tell "America's Most Wanted" that they managed to safely recover Christina Harrison. Cops say Harrison and Griffin were dating prior to hitting the road. However, investigators are still trying to determine whether or not Griffin forced her to go with him.
Griffin is facing some big charges -- including capitol murder and aggravated sexual assault charges. But cops say that list could grow. The investigation is far from over and investigators say other charges are pending.
