»The Full Story
Steven Ford was in prison for robbery and indecent liberties with a child. While some would find that unattractive, cops say correctional officer Amber Goff might have developed an inappropriate relationship with the prisoner.
According to police, Goth possibly doted on Ford so much that she might have provided Ford and another prisoner, Jesse Bell, with wire cutters and a chauffered getaway car. Cops believe on October 28, 2007, Goff herself whisked the two prisoners away after they cut through three fences.
Cops found Goff's car in the parking lot of the former IGA grocery store in Augusta, and some of their clothing in Sayre, Okla. the morning after their escape. Sayre is about 300 miles south of El Dorado. Blood was found on some of the clothing, leading cops to believe that one of the prisoners was injured during the escape.
Cops think they are now traveling in a 2007 light blue Ford Taurus with Alabama plates 008LJT. The car was rented from an Enterprise Car Rental in Oklahoma City prior to the escape. Cops also believe the fugitives are traveling with firearms- Goff's family members reported two .22 caliber pistols and a .357 were missing. Receipts indicated that ammunition for those weapons was recently purchased.
Cops and Amber Goff's family are concerned for her welfare, and are anxious to get these dangerous men back behind bars.
