Holley Wimunc murder,missing Husband Charged with Murder of Missing Soldier

On July 13, 2008, police in North Carolina recovered the body of Army 2nd Lieutenant Holley Wimunc, who had been missing for 3 days. Her remains were found on fire in remote wooded location near Camp Lejeune.

Body Of Missing Army 2nd Leiutenant Recovered


On July 13, 2008, police in North Carolina recovered the body of Army 2nd Lieutenant Holley Wimunc.

When Holley Wimunc didn't report for work in the baby ward at the Womack Army Medical Center on July 10th, 2008, her co-workers became concerned and went to her nearby residence to check on her, only to find smoke coming from inside. Wimunc was nowhere to be found, and her car was still in the parking lot of her complex

Holley's remains were found three days later on fire in remote wooded location near Camp Lejeune.

During a press conference on July 14, 2008, Fayetteville Police announced that Holley's husband, Marine Cpl. John Wimunc, has been arrested and charged with 1st degree murder in his wife's death. Another Marine, Lance Cpl. Kyle Alden, is also in custody and has been charged with conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder.
