Unknown Violet 'Vi' Ripken Abductor search Authorities Search For Violet Ripken's Abductor

Authorities in Maryland are working to identify the man who abducted Violet Ripken -- the mother of Hall of Fame baseball player Cal Ripken, Jr. Authorities say the man abducted Violet on July 24, 2012, at around 7 a.m., and she was found roughly 24 hours later in her vehicle near her residence. Police are asking for any information regarding the man in the surveillance photo.

  • The suspect drove Violet Ripken's silver, 1998 Lincoln Town Car with Maryland license plate SMR 308 while holding her captive. The car has a blue and white Boys and Girls Club sticker on it, as well as an American Flag sticker with the words "God Bless America" on the bumper.
