Wheeling, Illinois police say that Adolfo Sanchez shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Wiedemann, on July 20, 2001. Wiedemann had been shot several times in the upper chest and throat.
Cops say Wiedemann broke up with Sanchez about a week before her murder. They say Sanchez entered the home where Jennifer was working as a live-in nanny, walked down to the basement and shot her.
Investigators say Sanchez told his roomate later that day that the blood on his hands were from shooting and killing Jennifer.
Police say that Sanchez then fled to Milwaukee where he has relatives. Police recovered his car and gun, but believe Sanchez may have gone to Mexico.
FBI agents, acting on information gleaned in Illinois, discovered Adolfo Sanchez was living with his parents in rural Mexico.
Authorities passed along the information to the Legal Attache in Mexico City, an FBI employee at the American Embassy there. The Legat, in turn, coordinated the investigation with the Mexican Federal Police, also known as the AFI.
Two Dead In Shoot-OutAFI agents went to the parents' address early Tuesday morning, October 9th, 2006. Federales say that when they arrived around 2 am, Adolfo Sanchez got into a shootout with them. Sanchez and a Mexican agent were killed during the confrontation.
