Police have found a woman and her 5-year-old son who were the subject of an AMBER alert issued Nov. 27, 2005. Both are unharmed and the woman's former boyfriend, Carlos Delcid, has been taken into custody.
Isaac Hernandez and his mother, Sara, were located after officers pulled over a Dodge Ram pickup in Rockville on Twinbrook Parkway at around 10:30 a.m.--a little more than 12 hours after the AMBER alert was issued.
Police are now saying that the apparent kidnapping that led to an Amber Alert was actually a hoax.
Montgomery County police say the child's mother, Sara Hernandez-Torres, made up the story in to hide her ongoing romance with Delcid from her family.
