Nineteen-month-old Alejandra Gomez is currently the subject of a massive search effort and AMBER Alert that has been underway since the little girl's mother was found stabbed to death on June 11, 2006.
San Diego police say that the 23-year-old woman was found on the floor of her bedroom around 8:30 on Saturday morning in Linda Vista, California. Cops believe "person-of-interest" Gildardo Rosas Rodriguez may have been involved in the stabbing and also may have abducted the little girl.
Rodriquez, who also goes by the first names Gilberto and Fernando, is 31 years old and believed to live in Mexico. Police say he is 5'8", 170lbs, and was last seen wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Cops also believe that Rodriquez is not Alejandra's father but that he may have once been married to the girl's mother. At the time of her murder, police say that Alejandra's mother and Gildardo were not living together. Authorities on both sides of the border have been alerted to be on the lookout for Rodriquez and Alejandra.
Rodriquez was last seen driving a 1985 Honda Accord, charcoal gray with hood damage on the right side and a broken taillight with clear tape over the bulb. The license plate number is 1MGA355.
