Joliet Cedano was spending a day at the park with her foster mother on the afternoon of September 11, 2006 when she was abducted. Cops say the 5-month-old was taken by a man who fled in a car driven by a woman from the William J. McAdam Park in Palmdale, California.
Immediately, an AMBER Alert was issued for the little girl and the unknown male. Within hours, police had the male suspect in custody, only Joliet was still unaccounted for. From information they gathered during questioning, police ascertained that the little girl had been handed off to her biological mother, Maria Cedano Ayala. Cops say that Joliet had been taken from Ayala just after her birth because the infant was born addicted to narcotics.
Now, police are on the lookout for Maria Cedano Ayala and believe she may be driving one of two vehicles: a blue four-door 1995 Mercury Marquis, license plate number 5RSK813; or a black 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, license plate number 7D92423. Ayala is described as being 43 years old, 5'5" and weighing about 150 lbs.
