Police in Cairo, Georgia are on the look out for a four-month-old girl they say has been kidnapped. Investigators say 30-year-old Oscar Lopez took Julisa Gomez Diaz from his girlfriend's home at around 11:10 PM on September 17. Lopez, who is the child's father, had recently moved to Tampa, Florida. He came to Cairo trying to persuade Julisa's 18 year-old mother Marta to move back to Tampa with their daughter. But the mother wouldn't budge.
So investigators say Lopez broke in through a window and just took Julisa instead. Witnesses told police that Marta gave chase on foot shouting, "Help me! Help me!", and jumped in the car as Lopez sped off. Witnesses also said that Lopez's brother-in-law, Marcelino Gomez Hernandez, was in the car with the couple and Julisa. They were last seen in a green Toyota Camry with Florida plates. Cops think they may have headed back to Tampa, and that Marta's life may be in danger.
Authorities issued a Levi's Call, the Georgia equivalent of a national Amber Alert, early on September 18. Police describe Oscar Lopez AKA "Martin Gomes" as a hispanic male. He weighs 140 pounds and is 5'3" tall.
