Teen Subject of AMBER Alert Found; Man Arrested
A missing Texas teenager was found Wednesday with the man who police said lured her online to run away with him.
Margaret Catherine Wilkerson, who goes by the name Katy, was found in what was described as a homeless park in San Francisco. She was with 22-year-old Paul Bennett, who investigators said enticed Wilkerson to run away.
Police say they were able to trace the pair through an e-mail that came from a nearby business.
Authorities have been searching for Wilkerson since Oct. 25, when an Amber Alert was issued after she disappeared from her home.
A federal kidnapping warrant was issued for Bennett, who was taken into custody.
Both will be returned to the Houston area, where Wilkerson will be reunited with her family. Bennett, a ranch hand from Washington state, is charged with federal kidnapping. If convicted, he faces life in prison.
