AMW Tipsters Bust Fugitive Sisters, Recover Kids
One-year-old Lexie Fennell has spent about a third of her life on the run -- with her fugitive mother,
Kimberly Alvarado, her fugitive aunt Marissa Pomarico and her brother, Justin.
But viewers of AMW have brought an end to Lexie's chaotic life. Lexie's aunt, Marissa Pomarico proved to be the key.
When AMW aired the case of Kimberly Alvarado and her sister, Marissa Pomarico, our
hotline lit up with calls from dozens of tipsters, many of whom work in the porn industry.
Several claimed to have worked with Pomarico and told us she was going by the name "Jewel Affair".
A quick search of the internet proved the tips where right on.
Jewel Affair showed up as the star of several adult films.
One Surrender And One Capture
Meanwhile, another tipster called the FBI in Las Vegas and told agents where Pomarico, Alvarado and the two children could be found. However, when they arrived at the residence the two fugitives and two children were already gone.
By 2:00 am Pacific time, Pomarico had surrendered to police in Los Angeles. It turns out she had been in California for a week shooting another movie. She had learned she was on America's Most Wanted and was encouraged to turn herself in by members of the porn industry.
Yet authorites were still concerned about the whereabouts of Kimberly Alvarado and her two children. They learned that Kimberly had fled Las Vegas with Justin and Lexie shortly after her profile aired on AMW.
By now agents had obtained her cell phone number and they say the NYPD phoned Alvarado. They say Alvarado indicated that she had no intentions of surrendering. But it turns out Alvarado's last remaining hours of freedom were slipping by.
Agents were certain she was heading towards California, so they put out a BOLO for Kimberly, her children and the Dodge Durango she was driving. They were right on. By 11:30 am Pacific time, police in San Bernadino, California spotted the vehicle. They were able to arrest Kimberly without incident and the children were quickly placed in the care of Child Protective services.
