Parents Arrested; Infant Safe
BREAKING NEWS: Police in Ruidoso, New Mexico moved in and arrested Justin and Elizabeth Smith at a rental cabin early Saturday morning January 8, 2005.
Their 9-month-old daughter, Shelbie was safe. The family was transported back to Texas.
Justin is being held without bail.
Elizabeth has been charged with two counts of murder and bail was set at $1 million.
Shelbie has been turned over to the state.

Run Ends At New Mexico Cabin
Justin Smith was arrested early Saturday morning -- January 8, 2005. Smith and his wife Elizabeth are both now charged with murdering Smith's parents. Their 9-month-old daughter, Shelbie, was turned over to the custody of the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department.
Texas officials had been concerned for Shelbie's safety, but she appeared to be in good health and in no immediate danger.
On Friday, January 7, Texas officials had contacted police in Ruidoso, New Mexico with information that the Smiths may be hiding out in the mountain community about 100 miles Northeast of Las Cruces.
Ruidoso Police found the couple at a rental cabin where they had checked in on January 5. A SWAT team moved in and the couple was arrested without incident.
Mom Charged With Murder
The family has been transported back to Texas.
Justin is being held without bail.
Elizabeth has been charged with two counts of murder and is being held with bail set at $1 million.
Shelby has been turned over to the state.
