An Indiana man who pleaded guilty to the murder and molestation of a 10-year-old girl was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Anthony R. Stockelman also received 30 years on a child molestation charge.
According to investigators, DNA tests of semen found on Katie Collman's body led to the the arrest and criminal confinement.
Much to everyone's surprise Indiana State Police say Stockelman molested Katlyn either shortly before or after her death in January.
Police say Stockelman was in the area at the time of her disappearance. According to cops he was helping his mother move.
Investigators were led to Stockelman by a cigarette butt found at the creek. He was arrested on the molestation charge on April 6, when investigators learned that DNA found on Katie's body matched a sample from Stockelman.
A witness also told police about seeing Katie inside a pickup truck that authorities say fit the description of a vehicle owned by Stockelman.
