Kentucky Girl Found In Texas
An AMBER Alert ended Thursday, April 21, 2005, after a teenage girl from Kentucky was found unharmed about 30 hours after she disappeared Wednesday morning. Janet Quijano was found in a hotel room with a family aquaintance, Salvadore Perez, in Vernon, Texas. Perez had been labeled by Janet's father as a possible suspect in her abduction. Now, officials say Janet may not have been abducted at all, but left willingly.
Girl Calls FBI
According to officials, the sixteen-year-old Kentucky girl placed a phone call to the FBI and told authorities she was in Vernon, Texas at a motel. Police were dispatched to meet her at 4 p.m. The man with Janet, Salvador Perez, was arrested on a charge of custodial interference, according to officials.
