Child Appears To Have Drowned
On June 16, 2005 divers in York, South Carolina found the body of two-year-old Trinity Nicole Casey. An AMBER alert was issued for Trinity, who went by her middle name Nicole, a day prior, after she disappeared from a dock on South Carolina's Lake Wylie.
No Foul Play Suspcted
The York County Sheriff's Department said there was no evidence of foul play in Nicole's death.
"It appears that the child died of drowning," York County Sheriff Bruce Bryant told South Carolina's News 14. "There is no reason for anything else to be suspicious about this case. The coroner will be making his examination. As of right now, there is no criminal wrongdoing that we can see on anyone's part."
The girl's body was found about eight feet from the dock where she was last seen June 14 at a family barbeque.
Police in South Carolina issued an AMBER alert for Nicole on June 15. Allegedly, the girl's aunt had seen a man driving in the neighborhood around the time of Nicole's disappearance. However, now cops say the unknown man is not involved.
