The Carter County Sheriff's Office has discovered the body of a missing 6-year-old boy. Searchers found Charles Dillian Johnson's body in a river near a popular recreation site in Watauga, TN where he had gone camping for the weekend.

  • He was last seen hiking with some friends at a popular recreation in the area at Watagua Lake. The last known person who talked with six year old Dylan Johnson around five o'clock thought he was heading back down this path to rejoin his family. Some say he was seen speaking to a white male and a white femele in the area. They were in a blue or gray Dodge Dakota with Florida tags. There is no tag number at this time.

Searchers Discover Body


The Carter County Sheriff's Office has discovered the body of a missing 6-year-old boy.

Searchers found Charles Dillian Johnson's body in a river near a popular recreation site in Watauga, TN where he had gone camping for the weekend.

At this time police do not suspect foul play. Investigators say they are treating this as an accidental death.
