Toddler Identified; Mother, Boyfriend Charged


A toddler found wandering on a Georgia road has been identified and his mother has been located. The boy, Jorge Enrique Lopez, remains in protective custody. His mother, Martha Lopez, has been charged in connection with leaving him on the side of a busy Georgia highway. Her boyfriend, Dionicio Fuentez-Lorenzo, is charged with one count of cruelty to children for allegedly hitting a child in Columbus on Aug. 4.

Fuentez-Lorenzo, 23, and his girlfriend, Martha Velazquez Lopez, 23, allegedly drove away leaving her 2-year-old son, Jorge Enrique Lopez, after the child acted up. Fuentez-Lorenzo is not the biological father of the boy, but Velazquez Lopez has a 2-month-old baby girl with him.
