A missing 11-year-old Tempe, AZ girl who was the subject of an AMBER Alert was found safe at a Mesa apartment complex Friday night. Police say Valeria Cardenas was found walking around the apartment complex and appeared to be unharmed.
Authorities issued the AMBER Alert Friday morning and believed Valeria Cardenas was with 19-year-old Carlos Alberto Mota-Aguilera. Police say Friday afternoon, Mota-Aguilera was found at his grandmother's house in Mesa and was interviewed by detectives about Valeria's possible whereabouts.
Police were able to locate Valeria and have reunited her with her family. Mota-Aguilera was arrested and booked into jail on one count of custodial interference.
