Family Found Safe In Hotel Room
Cops knocked on the door of a hotel room in Elkhart, Ind. where a tipster called to say the Walker family was staying. When the door opened a woman stood in front of police shaking and sobbing uncontrollably. Then, four children slowly popped their heads up one after another. That's when cops say they knew the tip they had been given by a pizza delivery guy proved that the Walker family was still alive. The tipster told police that he got a call for a delivery order to the Sleepy Hollow Motel. When he dropped off the food he immediately recognized the Walker Family and called police. A stakeout was set-up in front of the motel where cops waited to make their move. Police say they grew confident about the tip when they saw the car that they believed White was driving parked in front.
Fugitive Tries To Escape
When cops came in to rescue the family they say Jerry White was trying to escape through an air duct. Thankfully, White was unable to fit through the small hole and was taken into custody. Cops have charged White with attempted murder and five counts of abduction. The family is now safely back in their home and in the care of loved ones. The victim of the shooting that occured the day of the abduction is still listed under critical condition but doctors say he is expected to recover.
