Mother And Child Recovered In
Mexico
It was a risky move, but Nadia Chavez had no other choice.
Cops say on June 11, 2007, Nadia, 16,
escaped her alleged abductor and headed to a convenience store in San Luis, Mexico, where she made a life saving move.
Cops say a beat-up and bruised Nadio gave the store clerk her mother's phone number and also asked the clerk to call police.
Then, she headed straight back into the danger zone -- she went back to the house where she and her baby -- Aileen -- were being held, recovered the baby, and then ran for her life.
Detectives say Nadia and the baby are in a safe place and are waiting to travel safely back home. Cops say they still believe Nadia's on-again off-again boyfriend Daniel Chavez is behind the abduction and he's facing possible charges.
