Four years after his disappearance, Shawn Hornbeck is back home with his family. This week, his alleged abductor pleaded not guilty to kidnapping -- even as police began looking into the alleged kidnapper's possible ties to another missing child.
Prosecutors have charged Michael Devlin with one count of kidnapping in the first degree for the abduction of Ben Ownby, and two counts of kidnapping and armed criminal action in Shawn's abduction.
Police are also looking at similarities between the kidnappings of Ben and Shawn and the abduction of Charles Arlin Henderson in 1991. Henderson was taken while riding his bike in Moscow Mills when he was 11 years old. He's never been found.
Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke says Thursday afternoon, Kirkwood Police Officers spotted a truck at the apartment that matched the vehicle a teen saw the day Ownby disappeared. Officers questioned Devlin, and say he became increasingly agitated as they started to ask more specific questions. Police and FBI agents went to the apartment Friday morning after Devlin left for work, and that's when they found the two boys.
A few days after Shawn was found, he and the Hornbeck family appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, where Shawn said he crossed himself every night and prayed his parents would find him. Shawn also said that while he wished Ben didn't have to go through what he went through, he was thankful that Ben's abduction ultimately led to both teens being rescued.
