Missing Child Found Dead

The body of 6-year-old Patricia Ann Miles, missing since Sunday, August 15, was found Thursday night at the edge of a bean field in northeastern Arkansas not far from where her shoes and pink bicycle had been recovered days earlier.

A Kidnapping Arrest

Days earlier police had arrested Jo Ann Buchanan, Patricia's neighbor and former baby-sitter, and charged her with kidnapping. So far she has not been charged with the girl's murder. Cops say several witnesses placed Patricia with Buchanan the day she disappeared. But Buchanan denies seeing the girl that day.
