Kara Borden police Police Say Alleged Killer's Girlfriend Not Kidnapped--Went Willingly

David Ludwig--accused of killing Michael and Cathryn Borden--is being held without bail while he awaits trial for their murders. Now police say that contrary to earlier suspicions, Ludwig did not kidnap the Bordens' 14-year-old daughter, Kara Borden. Instead they say she went willingly with the teen, eager to start a "new life."

Teen Went Willingly With Boyfriend--Not Kidnapped


Police say 14-year-old Kara Borden went willingly with David Ludwig--the man accused of shooting her parents to death. Police say Ludwig murdered Borden's parents early on Nov. 13, 2005 and then took off on a dangerous ride that ended in a crash some 600 miles away.

Police began pursuing Ludwig's vehicle--a red 1989 Volkswagen Jetta--after it was spotted on November 14 in Indiana.

Cops say they were able to capture Ludwig after he crashed his parents Jetta. Neither passenger was harmed in the crash. Police say they are still treating Kara Borden as a crime victim and will continue their investigation into her parents' deaths.
