Mo. Cops Find Body, Charge Suspect With Murder
Elizabeth Olten, 9, left her friend's house in St. Martins, Mo. around dusk on the evening of October 21, 2009.
When she didn't return home a short time later, her family called police to report her missing.
Less than 48 hours later, someone led cops to her body in the woods.

Body Found In Woods Believed To Be Missing Girl
On the afternoon of October 23, 2009, cops confirmed to AMW.com that a body has been found in the woods of St. Martins, Mo. At a news conference, Cole County (Mo.) Sheriff Greg White confirmed that indeed, the body is that of Elizabeth Olten.
Over the course of their investigation, authorities developed a "person of interest," Sheriff White said.
"Ultimately, they led us to where we recovered Elizabeth's body," says Sheriff White. Her remains were found in a heavily wooded area, "significantly away from the house where we started the search process," he continued.
Though the area had been searched prior to the tragic discovery, Sheriff White described her body as "very well concealed."
On the morning of Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009,
authorities confirmed that their person of interest, a 15-year-old, has been charged with first-degree murder. Due to their status as a juvenile, their name and gender are being withheld.
