On February 15, 2008, 71-year-old Robert Vendrick left his Phoenix, Ariz. home to seal a lucrative deal with his business partner, Gary Shawkey, in Orange County, Calif. The next day, Shawkey told police that the two men set sail on a boat to San Clemente Island for the clandestine meeting, but cops say that Shawkey is the only one who made it back.
