It has now been four years since Amanda Jones went missing, and her family has not given up their search. Her 8-year-old daughter often asks about her mother and baby brother. Police are still working hard on this case, but haven't had any new leads in some time.
»The Full Story
Amanda Jones has not been seen since Sunday, August 14, 2005. Amanda worked as a loan processor at Eagle Bank in Festus, Mo., and was last seen at the horse-show grounds of the Hillsboro Civic Center on Highway 21 in central Jefferson County at about 5 p.m. that day.
Among the concerns is the fact that Amanda was nine months pregnant. Family members said she had gone to the fair grounds to meet with Bryan Westfall, who is believed to be the father of her then-unborn baby.
Police said Jones was reported missing by her parents, who were babysitting her 4-year-old daughter.
During the early stages of the investigation, Westfall was considered a "person of interest" by investigators. He was the last person to see Amanda alive at the fairgrounds. Westfall denied any involvement in the disapearance of Amanda and cooperated with authorities. Cops searched Westfall's home and property and came up with nothing.
About 80 to 100 police officers and firefighters searched the fairgrounds and nearby woods but found no trace of Amanda or any clue as to her whereabouts.
Police found Amanda's unlocked car at the fairgrounds and collected trace evidence from it, but found no good clues. Police checked with area hospitals, searched Amanda's home and visited the homes of her friends, but found nothing suspicious there either.
Amanda's family has never given up their search for her. On this the fourth anniversary of her disappearance, we urge anyone with information on this case to call our hotline: 1-800-CRIME-TV.
