Keighley Ann Alyea, 18, vanished from her apartment on September 29, 2009. Cops are seeking any tips leading to her safe return.
Sitting on the southwest side of Kansas City, Kansas, Overland Park is no small town. With a population of 175,000, cops there are working around the clock to find a woman who mysteriously vanished on a late September evening.
According to police, Keighley Ann Alyea, 18, disappeared on the night of September 29, 2009 -- vanishing from the apartment she shared with friends, leaving no trace of herself behind.
In the immediate days that followed her disappearance, cops have interviewed Keighley's family, friends and numerous associates.
Detectives tell us Keighley has a network of acquaintances throughout the metropolitan Kansas City area, so the potential pool of people who may know of her whereabouts is certainly daunting.
Keighley has not communicated with anybody since the night of September 29. Cops say she has not made or received a single call, nor has she contacted anyone via e-mail or through her Facebook account.
Cops initially sought her car -- a green, 1993 Mazda 626 -- but they recovered it locally, five days later, on the evening of October 4, 2009. It's since been impounded and cops say it's being analyzed for traces of potential evidence.
The woman, who stands at 5'1" and weighs 113 lbs. had been involved in a domestic dispute nearly a week prior to the night she went missing.
Though cops have interviewed the individual involved, they're not considering him a suspect. As a matter of fact, cops haven't made any arrests in the case, as they don't have enough evidence to consider Keighley's disappearance a criminal matter.
Overland Park cops do consider her disappearance suspicious, however, and they are greatly troubled by the fact that she has been out of communication for so long.
