A Chilling Discovery

On February 23, 2006 -- about five months after his mysterious disappearance, police finally learned the whereabouts of Stephen Cooper. According to police, a dog dropped a severed and dehydrated forearm on the doorstep of a home near Morongo, California.

After a search police soon found the remains of Stephen Cooper in a rock quarry close to the western edge of the Morongo Indian reservation. Police say that clothing, a wallet, and a drivers license were found at the scene.

While the discovery brought long awaited relief to the Cooper family, the mystery now turned into a homicide investigation. Cops say that the condition in which the body was found warrants such an inquiry, however, there have been no recent developments.

Police are hoping for the public's help in figuring out the events surrounding Stephen Cooper's death.
