Cops say the one-time boyfriend of a murdered pharmaceutical rep has found himself in trouble with the law. Reginald Potts, Jr., who used to date Nailah Franklin, was arrested for an unrelated crime. Authorities say Potts -- who is not considered a suspect in Nailah's death -- was taken into custody for violating an order of protection against another woman.

Two Calumet City, Indiana cops were on a routine patrol early on the morning of Thursday, September 27, 2007 when they stumbled upon something behind an abandoned store that made them investigate further. Cops aren't saying what that item is, but they are saying that it was incredibly sharp of the patrol officers to pick up on the clue.
When the cops looked around the area, they discovered the partially buried, decomposed, unclothed body of an African American woman. Authorities confirmed through dental records that it was 28-year-old Nailah Franklin.
Nailah, a pharmaceutical sales rep, had been missing for nine days before the discovery of her body. The story captivated nearby Chicago, where Nailah lived and worked. Just a couple of days prior to the CalCity cops' finding her body, Nailah's car was recovered nearby-- abandoned in a restaurant parking lot.
Chicago Police are working with the Calumet City cops on the investigation. So far, there has been no official ruling on Nailah's cause of death. However, the FBI is assisting authorities and the case is now under criminal investigation.
