A grim discovery Tuesday confirmed a Chicago family's worst fears. Search crews recovered a body in Saulk Lake and investigators later identified the remains as Alma Mendez. Cook County officials say the cause of death appears to be blunt trauma to the head and a laceration to the throat. While investigators now know how Alma died, it's still unclear who might have played a part in her death.
