Snowboarder's Body Found Near Bus Stop
The body of a 28-year-old man who seemingly vanished into thin air in Aspen, Colo., on Nov. 27, 2010 was found more than two weeks later underneath a bridge. Cops tell AMW that the body of George Aldrich Jr. was found under the historic Maroon Creek Bridge some 50 yards from the bus stop he was last seen at. His cause of death has yet to be determined.

- Cops say George had a few days of growth on his face but could have a fuller beard by now.

- Cops say George hails from Rhode Island and had recently moved to Aspen, Colo. where he was working as a lift operator for the Aspen Skiing Company.
- Police say they have no reason to believe George disappeared on his own volition, and there is speculation that he may have tried to hitchhike after becoming lost on the evening of Nov. 27, 2010.
Location information:
- George was last seen around 10 p.m. after disembarking a Roaring Fork Transportation Authority bus at Truscott Place on the outskirts of Aspen. They say George may have realized he got off at the wrong stop and could have hitched a ride with an unknown person. Cops say George had been out celebrating with friends at Eric's Bar in Aspen earlier that evening.

They have been actively searching the Highway 82 corridor from Aspen to Carbondale.
Last Known Locations:
Cops say George had moved to Aspen in early November and was working as a ski lift operator at the Aspen Skiing Company.
Associates of his became concerned when he never showed up for work the following Monday.

Body Confirmed To Be Missing Snowboarder
Police in Aspen, Colo., tell AMW that an investigating team has positively identified a body found under Maroon Creek Bridge in Aspen to be that of missing Snowmass Village resident George Aldrich Jr.
Cops say an initial assessment of the incident scene has been conducted by agents from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the Aspen Police Department, as well as the Pitkin County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say an autopsy has been scheduled by the Pitkin County Coroner's Office for the morning of Dec. 14, 2010.
Cops say the snowboarder's body was found by off-duty personnel from Mountain Rescue (Aspen), who were not acting in official capacity, but were following up on a pledge to keep working to find the missing 28-year-old.
Police say Aldrich went missing after getting off at the Truscott Place bus stop on the evening of Nov. 27, 2010. They tell AMW that the bus stop is located approximately 50 yards from the bridge where George's body was found.
